Marsala Bridal Bouquet with Peonies

Textural Burgundy Bridesmaid Bouquet

Where are you located?

We're based in our Bloomington, IL studio and commercial kitchen. Surrounded by flower beds right outside of town, our flower studio and bakery allow us to serve our customers without the upkeep or set hours of a storefront. We’re available by appointment only at the studio.

We specialize in weddings and book them all over Illinois and are certainly available for travel as well.  We live for travel! See a question further down to learn more about our delivery fees.

Why flowers and cake together in one business?

Well because both are our passion! But more so, we think they pair so greatly together to make an event one to remember. And why meet with a florist and baker separately, when you can get both done in one stop!

How long have you been doing this?

Candice has been in business for 12 years now, previously as CM Cakes and Flowers, now Pollen and Pastry. She started doing cakes and flowers as a kid in 4-H and hasn't stopped since!

What all do you offer?

We are a wedding and event business to our core, but have also realized a love of helping you celebrate any occasion. Whether that’s sending a dessert combo box to new parents, or a flower arrangement to celebrate an anniversary, we offer delivery or pickup on oour Everyday Desserts and Flowers pages.

How do I make an appointment for a consultation and/or cake tasting for an event?

Simply send us an email using our contact form to let us know that you are interested in our services. We'll email back with a link where you can select a date and time for your consultation. Our consultations and cake tastings are free of charge!

Do you have a minimum budget required for weddings?

We have a $2500 minimum order for florals and $500 for desserts if you'd like your wedding delivered and setup by our team. We're happy to work with you on smaller orders that can easily be picked up from our studio in Bloomington on the morning of your event!

How much deposit is required to book an event?

A non-refundable retainer fee in the amount of 10% of your proposal total is required to hold your date. This retainer is easily paid through our online event management system by credit card or bank transfer or can be paid by cash or check in person.

How soon before an event should I book my florist and/or baker?

The sooner the better! While we can certainly take last-minute wedding orders, assuming we are not fully booked for your date, you'll have a better chance of us being available if you book at least six months ahead of time. With flowers in particular, you're more likely to get the specific flowers you're wanting if we can get our order in ahead of time.

How many weddings do you take in a weekend?

We never take more weddings in a weekend than we can handle because we want to provide each couple with the highest service level of service. As a result, the number of bookings we take is limited.

How much should I budget for wedding flowers?

Every one of our bride's flower total varies greatly because of the seasonality of flowers and the uniquely different designs we create for each bride. During your complimentary consultation, you will leave with a detailed price quote which will give you an idea of what cost to expect. Expect to spend about 10-15% of your total wedding budget on your flowers. As mentioned, every wedding is different, but one can expect to spend approximately $800-$1000 on personal flowers for a typical wedding party of 5, just as an example. Ceremony and reception flowers totals will vary greatly depending the amount of decor needed.

How much should I budget for wedding cake?

Our tiered cakes start at $6.00 per serving, so one can budget based on that for the amount of guests you'll be inviting. The more intricate the cake design, the higher the price per serving. Individual servings of our small desserts start at $1.50 a serving.

Do I have to do all my cake servings in one large wedding cake?

Absolutely not! We in fact do not offer large wedding cakes. We love that brides are breaking away from the traditional and incorporating more dessert tables into their weddings. We love to create displays of our signature cupcakes, cookies, macarons, pies, or chocolates to make your day unique.

What if I like the look of a large cake but I have a smaller budget?

We can actually create the look of a large cake by using decorated styrofoam dummy cakes, leaving just one of the tiers for the bride and groom to cut and serve. The servings for the remaining wedding guests could then be fulfilled with other servings like cupcakes or simple single-tiered cakes.

How much is delivery and to where do we deliver events?

We love to travel and will absolutely go just about anywhere to create a fabulous event! Within the central and northern Illinois areas, our delivery charge is based on a percentage of your total. Typically 15-20%. The larger the event, the more staff we need to set up the event. This percentage allows us to hire the proper number of staff to serve your event. Outside of the central and northern Illinois areas will be based on location. We frequently deliver to Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana, Peoria, Chicago and the Chicagoland area in Illinois, but are more than happy to travel to your special location, wherever it may be..

What other services do you offer?

We have a variety of vases, stands, and decor items available to rent for your ceremony and event and we're constantly adding to our collection. We also offer cake cutting service, event set up, and can move designs between event locations for additional fees. Check out our Rentals page here.
